Genomics Thailand is a collaborative human genome research network in Thailand. The Genomics Thailand team, originally led by Thailand National Institute of Health, Department of Medical Sciences, Ministry of public health (DMSc-MoPH), has set the first launch of “Precision Medicine” (PM) implementation research program in Thailand between 2019-2023. This five-year strategic program has been covered the research area in genomic epidemiology to estimate genetic factors that influence susceptibility to specific diseases or traits among Thais, thus advancing the genomic-based testing/screening program for clinical and public health implications in Thailand.
Thailand 4.0 is the government campaign to build innovation-driven economy of Thailand for overcome the middle-income country gap and achieving sustainable economy The “Genomics Thailand Initiative” will kick- start Thailand competitiveness in the genomic medicine research and improves standard of medical management for Thai people and others It will support “Medical Hub Thailand” project and also in medical tourism and wellness with the market value of 570 billion US$ Genomics medicine market value will climb up to 21 billion US$ by 2019 mostly because of application of genomics data to the medical management that results in “Precision Medicine”
